The Saucy Fish Co. has secured several new major retail accounts in Europe for its retail line of frozen fish and sauce offerings. The nine-product range, which debuted in the United Kingdom earlier this year and recently landed a listing with the Tesco supermarket chain, is now available in eight countries.

Launching later this month and soon to be available in France and Denmark will be Salmon with Chili, Lime and Ginger Dressing, Herb Crusted Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce, and Smoked Haddock with Vintage Cheddar and Chive Sauce. Both countries are new territories for the Grimsby, England-based Saucy Fish Co., a Seachill unit recently acquired by the Hilton Food Group.

NEW PACKAGING Salmon Lemon ButterFranprix will stock the trio of frozen items across 180 stores, predominantly around the Paris area, with the Dansk Supermarket Group in Denmark listing the range in 410 Netto, 67 Fotex and 17 Bilka stores across the country.

Paul Macis, international business manager, commented: “This is an exciting time for us. As our frozen products have been so well received in the UK, United States and Canada, we now look forward to working alongside Franprix and Dansk Group to introduce the range to even more consumers in Europe.

Ocado is the fourth retailer in the UK to stock the company’s frozen range. Its online shoppers now have access to Saucy’s Herb Crusted Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce, alongside Sea Bass with Salsa Verde, Basa with Asian BBQ Sauce and Thai Spiced Fishcakes.

“New product development has been a focus for our brand this year, especially within our frozen range,” said Macis. “Herb Crusted Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce offers a new exciting twist, so we’re thrilled to be introducing the product to consumers in the UK, through Ocado.”

Distributed in units of two per 270-gram pack, the fish cooks from frozen and is ready to serve after 27 minutes of oven heating.
