Frozen Yellowfin Tuna Steaks for Kids is one of 11 products – and the only frozen contender – that have advanced to the final round of SIAL China Innovation 2015 Awards competition. Produced by Port Louis, Mauritius-based Sapmer Premium Sea Products, the boneless and skinless tuna offering was among 93 entrants considered by judges in a pre-selection process conducted in July.

Among other finalists are: Swallow Bird Nest Drink from Wealthy Formula Enterprise Co., Ltd. of China; Organic Sticks and Pretzels with Himalayan Salt from Savimex of Bulgaria; Parfum Culinaire de Lise Baccara (a cooking spray containing cognac) from Lise Baccara of France; and a Beer Making Kit from Brooklyn Brew Shop of the USA.

“The jury considered health, packaging and customer convenience in selecting the finalist products, all of which touch on developments that are important to the Asian and Chinese food industry,” said Xavier Terlet, president and founder of XTC World Innovation, SIAL Innovation’s partner. “Each aims to bring enjoyment and pleasure to consumers through quality ingredients and product design, and will undoubtedly be popular with consumers in stores and restaurants.”

SIAL Innovation is billed as the only international contest with a presence in the four corners of the world. Finalists will be afforded the opportunity to visit all of the SIAL Group’s shows, which take place in Canada, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Paris and Abu Dhabi.
