Artwork from two young patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, are being spotlighted on one million bags of limited edition frozen Green Giant Veggie Tots. As part of its partnership with the research hospital, Memphis, the B&G Foods brand worked with patients to create colorful drawings of its Cauliflower and Broccoli & Cheese vegetable offerings.

Creative designs by Addy, age 4, and Bailey, age 13, are featured on the new packaging that will be available at grocery stores throughout the USA this fall. Addy is fighting brain cancer (anaplastic astrocytoma) with chemotherapy and proton radiation therapy, while Bailey has received treatment for a type of bone cancer called osteosarcoma.

Green Giant Limited edition Veggie Tots“Green Giant is incredibly generous in its support of St. Jude, our patients and lifesaving mission,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., president and chief executive officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “We’re thrilled to partner with this iconic brand, as Green Giant uses its platform and popularity to showcase our patients’ stories and the critical work we do.”

In addition to prominent promotion of St. Jude on Green Giant product packaging, the Parsippany, New Jersey-headquartered B&G Foods parent company has donated $350,000 to the organization to help the hospital further its efforts in helping the world understand, treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. B&G Foods employees have voluntarily committed an additional $250,000 of their own money to the cause.

“We’re proud to bring our partnership with St. Jude to the freezer aisle in such a big way by featuring patient artwork and compelling stories on our new limited edition Green Giant Veggie Tots packaging,” said Jordan Greenberg, the brand’s vice president and general manager. “It was important for us to release this timed to September and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to bring awareness of the important work being done by St. Jude to help children and families.”

About the Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the United States devoted solely to children. Treatments launched there have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. The hospital freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from the hospital for treatment, travel, housing or food. More information is available by visiting stjude.org.
