Alexia Foods, a marketer of all-natural frozen potatoes, vegetables, breads and side dishes, has rolled out a retail line of Rib Cut BBQ Sweet Potato Fries and Premium Seasoned Vegetables seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices in the United States.

Alexia-Rib-Cut-BBQ-Sweet-Potato-Fries-Rib Cut BBQ Sweet Potato Fries, accented with spicy red pepper, are positioned as a unique twist on the classic sweet potato fry. They serve up nicely as is, or may be featured as the foundation for a Southern-style hash complete with chorizo, onions and cilantro.

“Adding even more variety to the collection of Alexia sweet potato fries, our new Rib Cut BBQ Sweet Potato Fries plays off the popularity of barbeque as one of America’s favorite potato chip flavors. This unique skin-on cut variety is made with farm-fresh sweet potatoes and infuses the flavor of Southern barbeque with a spicy kick,” said Rob Johnson, senior brand manager of Eagle, Idaho, USA-based Alexia Foods, a subsidiary of Omaha, Nebraska-headquartered ConAgra Foods.

Alexia’s Premium Seasoned Vegetables, distributed in steam-in-bag packages, can be prepared in less than five minutes. The offerings include the following:

  • FrenchHerbGreenBeansAX313French Herb Green Beans. They are accented with a dash of black pepper and spritzed with olive oil.
  • Parmesan Peas. Grown in the US Northwest, these sweet peas take on an enhanced savory profile with the addition of Parmesan cheese and parsley.
  • Southern Sweet Potato Blend. The combination boasts sweet potatoes, sweet corn, sweet peas, red bell peppers and onions with a pinch of cayenne pepper and seasoned herbs.
  • Italian Herb Corn with Sundried Tomatoes. Grown in the Columbia River Valley, this combination of white and yellow super sweet corn is blended with tangy sundried tomatoes and topped with an array of savory Italian herbs and garlic.

Now available in frozen food aisles nationwide, these new Alexia vegetable and sweet potato products are all non-GMO verified. Alexia Premium Seasoned Vegetables are available in 11- and 12-ounce packages at a suggested retail price of $2.49, while the Rib Cut BBQ Sweet Potato Fries are sold in 20-ounce packages at a suggested retail price of $3.89.
