Recall of Vinh Fat Pork Products, McCain Onion Rings

Concerned about possible of E. coli contamination, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its food recall warning for a variety of frozen pork products sold in an Edmonton store and possibly other retail outlets in Alberta. Manufactured by Vinh Fat Food Products, the range of spring rolls, buns and wontons was purchased by shoppers between July 10 and September 8.

The recall came after other raw pork products from two other Alberta companies were pulled from the marketplace.

Meanwhile, on September 12 McCain Foods voluntarily recalled McCain brand Onion Rings distributed nationally over worries of possible glass contamination. Consumers are advised to discard or return 397-gram packages (UPC 0 55773 00089 4) should they have a lot code beginning with V40728 and a best before date of October 28, 2015.
