French Toast Sticks with Turkey Sausage Subject of Recall

Stratham, Georgia-based Gourmet Culinary Solutions is recalling approximately 495 pounds of turkey sausage products that are part of a frozen entrée that also contains french toast sticks and peaches. The product may be contaminated with foreign materials, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The entrées, produced under the Golden Gourmet label on March 14, 2015, were packed in 8.25-oz. (234-gram) compartment trays and carry an 11/14/16 “use by date.” They were distributed to senior citizens in Georgia as part of the state’s Meals on Wheels program.

Products subject to recall may contain pieces of a conveyor belt inside the packaging, which bear establishment number “P-21200” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The problem was discovered in 10-lb. bulk packages of the french toast sticks by a customer of the ingredient manufacturer.
