Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Subject to Recall from Aldi Stores

Schaumburg, Illinois, USA-headquartered Nation Pizza and Foods is recalling approximately 59,028 pounds of frozen Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Rising Crust Pepperoni Pizza due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

142-2015-labelsDistributed exclusively to ALDI grocery stores in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, the 780-gram product contains soy, a known allergen that is not declared on the product label. Produced between August 25, 2015, and on November 9, 2015, its packaging bears establishment number “EST. 1682A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them, but rather throw them away or return them to place of purchase. Thus far there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the pizza.
