At a time when beef prices are high and fast food restaurant operators in the United States find it difficult further discount hamburger deals, chicken again comes to the rescue. Most Burger King outlets are now offering, for a limited time only, 10 chicken nuggets for just $1.49. The bargain, menued at about half of the regular price of $2.99, equates to less than 15¢ per piece. That beats McDonald’s Restaurants’ 50 for $9.99 McNuggets offer by about a nickel per unit.

BK-Nuggets-DealBurger King’s 10-piece Chicken Nuggets for only $1.49 deal returns to participating restaurants in the US for a limited period.“When we first offered our guests this value back in October, they went crazy for it. We are bringing it back again in January during a time when people are watching their wallets after all that holiday shopping,” said Eric Hirschhorn, chief marketing officer in North America for Burger King Corporation. “Ten pieces for $1.49 is an unbelievable deal that offers unbeatable value for our guests.”

Battered in a home-style seasoned breading, Chicken Nuggets may be enjoyed with a signature Burger King dipping sauce including BBQ, Honey Mustard, Ranch, Zesty, Buffalo and Sweet & Sour.

Burger King’s marketing team figures that the nuggets deal will significantly boost customer traffic and sales, as was the case last year when the promotion contributed to generating a 3.6% gain in sales during the third quarter.

According to one industry observer, “The goal is to steal share from the other burger brands around them.”

Consumers are the big winners in the limited time promotion. Other winners are the suppliers of frozen chicken nuggets, as demand is expected to surge.
