Three new frozen, fully cooked gluten-free coated chicken items have been introduced to the foodservice market in the United Kingdom by CP Foods: Breaded Chicken Breast, Chicken Goujons and Chicken Chunks. The easy-to-prepare products, made from 100% chicken breast meat, may be served a number of ways – from salads to burgers to dippers, or as platter components.
“We are very excited about the additions to the Carisma range and the opportunity this gives our customers in this market,” said Ian Stobart, manager of CP’s Newmarket, Suffolk-based foodservice business unit. “The UK ‘Free-from’ market continues to grow strongly, up more than 15% last year, driven by a combination of more consumers being diagnosed with intolerances as well as the wider trend of consumers seeking out healthy eating options.”
He continued: “The industry is reacting with an increased number of gluten-free menus, but there aren’t that many coated chicken options. Our new Carisma gluten-free range aims to fill this gap and give foodservice operators and their customers a gluten-free offering that measures up to the quality of our existing core coated chicken lines.”
The extensive line of Carisma frozen food products includes a variety of value-added fish, prawn and dim sum offerings as well as poultry fare.
CP Foods UK, a member of the Bangkok, Thailand-headquartered CPF Group, operates production facilities in Britain where imported foodstuffs are prepared and packaged for sale.
