There will be plenty of activity at the Matlaw’s booth (#305) during Seafood Expo North America in Boston on March 7 at 2:30 PM. That’s when an official memorandum of understanding will be signed by executives of Gloucester, Massachusetts-based National Fish & Seafood, which produces Matlaw’s branded products, and Minh Phu Seafood Corporation of Vietnam, to encourage 800 shrimp farm operations in Vietnam to attain four-star Best Aquaculture Practices certification.

The company, a division of the Pacific Andes Group, is expected to be busy during the duration of March 6-8 show, where the national rollout of its Big Value Line will be spotlighted.

“We constantly strive to develop distinctive, high quality seafood products and are excited to introduce the line in response to demand,” said Nancy Peterson, Matlaw’s vice president of marketing. “Today, consumers want super-sized packages of wholesome, delicious seafood at a great price, in a variety of on-trend flavors and we are pleased to say that this new line meets all of those preferences and more.”

Matlaws Mac Cheese BitesEach offering is packaged in clear, two-pound bags featuring English and Spanish language bilingual text along with Matlaw’s contemporary blue and white color palette featuring the brand’s distinctive rippling ocean wave. Each flavor is distinguished with a bold color that sets them apart, and yet is complementary to the overall line. From Shrimp Jalapeño Mac & Cheese Bites to Panko Breaded Tilapia Fillets, Calamari Bites, Panko Breaded Grouper Fillets, Jalapeño Breaded Pollock Tenders, Popcorn Shrimp and Seafood Cakes, every item in Matlaw’s Big Bag Value Line reflects a unique flavor profile with consumer appeal.

“For our retail customers, stocking Matlaw’s new Big Bag Value Line is sure to boost their bottom-line,” said James Faro, director of sales at National Fish & Seafood. “We’ve seen a tremendous response already, with over 4,000 store placements nationwide. With today’s consumers seeking flavor, variety and value for their grocery dollars, these offerings are unique to anything else on the market and a great choice for retailers looking to expand their seafood offerings in store.”

Mattlaw’s brand seafood products are made exclusively from raw materials sourced from suppliers who meet the company’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements. Furthermore, since 2014, its parent company has been actively engaged in projects, launched in cooperation with the Global Aquaculture Alliance, that enable small-scale shrimp farmers to have access to the highest international certification standards for sustainability.
