JCS Fish Earns AA Rating from British Retail Consortium

Grimsby, England salmon specialist JCS Fish has enhanced its British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification to the AA Grade standard – doubling up on its A Grade status obtained in 2016.

An estimated 22,000 certificated food suppliers in 123 countries now use the international standard.

organic salmonThe family-owned company, established in 2000 by Andrew and Louise Coulbeck, supplies both frozen and fresh salmon and trout to independent stores across Britain, as well as directly to consumers through the Ocado online supermarket platform. In addition to whole fish, marinated portions and fillets, it offers burgers and other value-added BigFish brand and private label products. Raw material is procured exclusively from accredited fish farms in Scotland, Norway and the Faroe Islands. Sales last year amounted to approximately £7 million.
