High Liner Opens New US Headquarters in New Hampshire

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada-headquartered High Liner Foods Inc., a producer and supplier of value-added frozen seafood, has officially opened its newly constructed US headquarters. The 38,000-square-foot state facility is situated at the Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, just two miles from one of its manufacturing sites.

“The opening is an important milestone for High Liner Foods, which has grown significantly over the last several years, particularly in the United States,” said Keith Decker, president and chief operating officer. “The relocation and design of the building will help us serve our customers better and attract and retain the top talent required for continued growth into the future.”

Some 110 full-time employees from administration, sales, marketing, culinary and R&D departments were relocated from the previous US headquarters in Danvers, Massachusetts. The building features advanced communications technology, a cutting-edge culinary innovation center and a state-of-the-art research and development facility.

High Liner Foods’ retail products are sold throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico under the High Liner, Fisher Boy, Mirabel Sea Cuisine, and C. Wirthy brand names. The company also distributes products to restaurants and institutions under the High Liner, Icelandic Seafood, FPI, Viking, Mirabel, Samband of Iceland and American Pride Seafood labels.

In addition to Portsmouth and Lunenburg, High Liner operates processing plants in Malden and New Bedford, Massachusetts, and Newport News, Virginia. Combined sales amounted to approximately $1.2 billion last year.
