The production of farm-raised Penaeus vannamei shrimp in India, which has loomed large during recent years, has created a new dynamism in the nation’s $5 billion-plus fishery products export sector. Indeed, frozen shrimp (including cultured P. monodon Black Tiger and M. rosenbergii species) accounts for more than 64% of India’s total export revenues generated by marine product sales.
