Greenyard Foods Names Valerie Vanhoutte CFO; Agreement Signed with KTG Agrar in Germany

Valerie Vanhoutte is scheduled to take over as chief financial officer (cfo) of Greenyard Foods NV effective November 1. She will assume the position from Steven D’haene, who left the company in late August. Her responsibilities include investor relations as well as the financial management of Ghent, Belgium-headquartered Greenyard Foods, the holding company for frozen vegetable and fruits producer Pinguin NV and canned vegetables and sauces specialist Noliko.

Ms. Vanhoutte, age 38, has been working at Greenyard Foods since 2012 and is currently vice president of finance and controlling. The new cfo was previously employed as a finance manager and group controller at Enfinity. She started her career at Deloitte, and has performed various financial jobs at Picanol.

Marleen Vaesen, chief executive officer of Greenyard Foods, commented: “The appointment of Valerie Vanhoutte is important to continue to strengthen our position.  We want to focus on organic growth and the further consolidation of acquisitions. We are also very pleased that we can promote internal talent. This underlines our belief in the training of own employees.”

In other news, Greenyard Foods has signed an agreement in principle with KTG Agrar regarding operational cooperation with the German company’s frozen vegetable manufacturing site at Manschnow. The arrangement calls for Greenyard Foods to rent the production unit to KTG Agrar, which will take over the personnel.

As the strategy of Greenyard Foods is focused on improving efficiencies in production units within the Group, this agreement is a further step forward in this optimization of the Pinguin division.

KTG Agrar owns the Frenzel brand, a well-known retail label in Germany’s frozen food market. The Group already operates from a factory in Ringleben, where it processes products under the Frenzel banner. Now, with the addition of operations in Manschnow, it has reinforced offerings to the German market with a full range of frozen vegetables and fruit.
