Incoming CCO at Nomad Foods Europe Hails from Mondelez

Albert Mathieu will join Nomad Foods Europe as chief commercial officer (CCO) in October. The Feltham, England-headquartered company is Europe’s largest frozen food producer and marketer, distributing the Birds Eye, Iglo and Findus brands in 17 countries.

Albert Mathieu 212x300Mathieu is coming to Nomad Foods after spending the past three years at Mondelez as president of Biscuits Europe, responsible for a portfolio of international and local brands including Oreo, Lu, TUC and Belvita. Before that he held a number of different positions at Mars in Europe and South America for 19 years.

Stefan Descheemaeker, chief executive officer of Nomad Foods, commented: “Albert is a great fit for our business and I’m delighted that he is joining us. He brings a wealth of FMCG experience from a variety of roles and will play an important part in achieving our bigger ambition to create a leading global consumer food company. The company, founded in 2014 as an investment vehicle without an operational business by Noam Gottesman and Martin Franklin, acquired Europe’s leading retail frozen food brand names and production sites in 2015. William Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management hedge fund has an 18.3% stake in the Nomad Foods, which is capitalized at $2 billion.
