Al Kabeer Opens Frozen Food Factory in Saudi Arabia

The Dubai, UAE-headquartered Al Kabeer Group opened its first frozen food plant in Saudi Arabia on May 16. The state-of-the art 44,923-square-meter facility in Rabigh’s King Abdulla Economic City has capacity to manufacturer 9,000 metric tons of finished products per annum.

Al Kabeer New ProductsFounded over 40 years ago, Al Kabeer has two other factories in the Gulf region that pack more than 400 SKUs ranging from value-added meat and poultry to seafood, vegetables, french fries, fruits, snacks and ready meals featuring recipes including Biryani and Chicken Tikka Makhani. The products are distributed to approximately 20,000 retail and foodservice outlets in the Middle East and beyond.

On the occasion of the new factory’s inauguration, Al Kabeer Group Chairman Suresh Subberwal commented: “It’s our obsession with quality in procurement, manufacturing and distribution of frozen foods that has helped us to compete with international brands in the Gulf market and make us a leader in the region.”

Pointing out the strategic reason for building the plant in Western Saudi Arabia along the Red Sea in Rabigh, Al Kabeer Director Ahmed S. Khan stated: “It is a trade corridor that connects Madinah and Makkah, Jeddah, with important growth potential where Al Kabeer is eyeing to serve pilgrims with ready-made meals in near future.”
