Paul Howell, hired as commercial head of Anglia Crown in January, has been appointed as the Colchester, Essex, United Kingdom-headquartered company’s managing director. Officially assuming the helm earlier this month, his primary responsibilities are maintaining and growing the chilled and frozen meal manufacturers’ business with a focus on expanding markets beyond the healthcare sector.
Howell’s experience prior to joining Anglia Crown included working as a business development manager for Compass Group, head of sales at Apetito, and director of local authority catering at Tillery Valley Foods.
“The past year has been an extremely busy time for us, with some exciting new developments,” said Howell. “I am looking forward to building on the company’s success, focusing on growing our existing market share and entering new markets wherever possible. Contract retentions, as well as expected new business, will form a significant part of our plans for future growth.”
Anglia Crown currently supplies prepared ready meals solutions to more than 100 hospital sites in the United Kingdom, either directly or via partner suppliers. It is a member of the Bakkavor Group, which employs nearly 19,000 people worldwide, manufacturing over 5,000 different products across 18 categories.
