Michael AllenMichael Allen has joined the board of directors of Kidfresh, a New York City-based marketer of frozen meals, side dishes and breakfast items for children. He brings a wealth of experience to the table, having previously served as president of Boulder Brands and Kellogg’s frozen foods division. For the past three years Allen has been a principal at the Denver, Colorado-based Georgian Group, a private consultancy and advisory firm.

Kidfresh was founded in 2003 by Matt Cohen and Gilles Deloux, two fathers frustrated by the lack of “better-for-you” food choices for their children. It has grown into a nationally distributed line available in over 10,000 stores throughout the USA. The brand’s portfolio offers a line of items featuring enriched vegetables and other wholesome ingredients, with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. Products include Wagon Wheels Mac ’N Cheese, Super Dupe Chicken Nuggets, Potato ’N Yellow Squash Tots, and Poppin Pretzel Bites filled with uncured ham, egg, cheese and pureed carrots.

“As Kidfresh accelerates its growth, we’re excited to bring on such top industry talent to champion the brand. We’re seeing accelerated momentum ahead and having someone like Michael join our board, with his level of expertise, is yet another milestone for Kidfresh,” said Cohen.

“As a big believer in the Kidfresh brand and the amazing team behind it, I’m happy to be able to leverage my industry experience to help the company continue to scale and be a leader in its space,” said Allen.

In April of 2017, Kidfresh announced the closing of Series B funding led by Monogram Capital Partners, alongside existing institutional investors Emil Capital Partners and AccelFoods.
