Iglo brand frozen food sales in Germany rose an impressive 15.3% in 2017. That equated to €466 million, according to recently released Nielsen figures.

The company, a unit of Feltham, England-headquartered Nomad Foods, enjoyed especially good results in the vegetable and fish sectors. Its extensive product lines range from peas, spinach and vegetable blends to value added fish and seafood side dishes and ready meals sold under the Käpt’n Iglo banner.

After declines in recent years, the company’s renewed strategy since been acquired by Nomad Foods in 2015 is paying off. In 2017 it reportedly had five products in Nielsen’s Top 20 List of Frozen Food and Ice Cream Best Sellers. Iglo’s popular fish sticks continue to outperform the competition.

Looking head, Iglo has geared up for further growth that is anticipated in 2018. The company, which employs 1,450 people throughout Germany, has almost doubled production capacity at its vegetable factory in Münsterland and added a second production site at its frozen fish plant in Bremerhaven.
