Sara Lee Frozen Bakery announced on August 8 that it has named three food industry veterans to its executive team to filling top roles in supply chain, human resources and technology divisions.

Carson Funderburk has been hired as the Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, USA-based company’s chief supply chain officer and will be responsible for ensuring that the end-to-end supply chain is efficient, sustainable and provides seamless resources and support to manufacturing facilities. Before joining Sara Lee he worked at General Mills for almost 17 years and at Procter & Gamble immediately prior.

Matt Beliveau comes on board as chief human resources officer and will be responsible for working with CEO Craig Bahner to build the corporate leadership team at headquarters in suburban Chicago, and engage the company’s 1,300 employees across all sites. He was at Morton Salt for the past four years. Prior to that Beliveau spent 13 years at General Mills, and also served for four years on active duty in the US military as a logistics officer.

Colin Schneid joins the team as chief information officer and will be leading technology innovation and support systems, as technology will anchor much of the company’s investments in research and development. Prior to being hired by Sara Lee, he was at the food product development company OSI Group in Chicago, and before that he spent 17 years in technology roles at Georgia Pacific.

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, which was recently sold to the Kohlberg & Company private equity firm by Tyson Foods, operates production and distribution facilities in Michigan and North Carolina. The company employs nearly 1,300 people.
