Captain D’s LLC, a leading fast casual seafood restaurant operator in the United States, has announced plans to enhance its presence in Baton Rouge and other locations in Louisiana as part of the chain’s overall franchise expansion plans this year. The aim is to open 17 new restaurants by the end of 2016.

Toward this goal Steve Bielewicz, senior director of franchise development, will hold forth at Booth #507 during the Louisiana Foodservice & Hospitality Expo in New Orleans from August 6-8 to meet with prospective franchisees. Captain D’s currently has seven restaurants operating throughout the state, with a new corporate location slated to open in Denham Springs at the end of this year.

The company recently released its second quarter results, which showed a 3.1% system-wide same store sales increase and marked the 19th consecutive quarter of positive returns.

“We have been experiencing tremendous growth this year as new openings and franchise agreements are bringing our restaurants to cities nationwide,” said Michael Arrowsmith, chief development officer of the Nashville, Tennessee-headquartered company.

With 512 restaurants currently doing business in 21 states, Captain D’s is ranked as the top seafood franchise in America in terms of average unit volume. Founded in 1969, the chain offers a reasonably priced menu that ranges from signature hand-battered fish and shrimp to surf and turf, chicken, hush puppies and desserts.
