SnoTemp Cold Storage Expands Albany Facility in Oregon

SnoTemp Cold Storage has opened an additional 96,000 square feet of space at its state-of-the-art warehouse in Albany, Oregon, USA. The expansion further supports growth of the regional frozen fruit and vegetable sectors in the Willamette Valley and offer additional services to local food processors.

Now encompassing 440,000 square feet of temperature-controlled space ranging from -20°F to +70°F, the expanded facility features an 8,500-square-foot processing area designed to accommodate repacking, wet packing and fresh fruit handling functions, as well as other activities.

“Co-locating processing with warehousing creates distinct logistical and economic efficiencies that are critical to sustaining success in today’s market,” said CEO Jason Lafferty.

Acting as a food fulfillment center that provides supply chain integration and coordination for dozens of distributors and big box retailers, SnoTemp’s Albany operation efficiently handles order fulfillment for finished goods as well as offering raw materials storage in frozen, cooler and dry environments. Value-added services run the gamut from variety pack assembly and e-commerce fulfillment to relabeling and stickering. Technological solutions include real time access to online inventory, EDI integration and RF scanning.

Established in 1957, the company is a third generation family-owned and operated business headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. It offers 725,000 square feet of temperature controlled storage space at two sites centrally situated along the I-5 corridor, each with quick access to eastbound truck routes and within easy reach of multiple West Coast ports.
