ACS&T Managing Director Joins ECSLA on Brexit Watch

ECSLA logoMalcolm Johnstone, managing director of ACS&T Logistics and former president of the Food Storage & Distribution Federation (FSDF), has been named the United Kingdom’s FSDF representative to the Brussels-based European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA). 

With the UK poised to leave the European Union, the timing of Johnstone’s appointment is of significant importance to ensure that the Brexit process is managed without detriment to the British refrigerated warehouse industry and its clients. 

JohnstoneMalcolm Johnstone“When Theresa May invokes Article 50 before the end of March 2017, the focus will be on ensuring a suitable continuing of trade with the EU at a macro level. To ensure this occurs pan-European organizations such as ECSLA will have a key role to play,” said Johnstone.

He added: “At ACS&T and FSDF we want to be at the forefront of the work that must be done on behalf of our customers to ensure engagement within the Brexit debate. We will also be monitoring from an FSDF members’ perspective the detail of the exit process as it becomes clearer.”
