New Managing Director at Reed Boardall Transport Division
Graeme Richardson has been named managing director of the transportation division of North Yorkshire, England-headquartered Reed Boardall. The temperature controlled food storage and distribution company operates a fleet of approximately 180 vehicles that move an average of 12,000 pallets a day from a single cold storage facility at a 55-acre site in Boroughbridge.
Richardson brings operations management, logistics and supply chain management skills to the job. He recently served as a director at National Holidays Ltd, and previously spent five years with the Tesco retail chain in a variety of roles including area distribution manager for the north and primary manager of national rail operations. Prior to that, he was regional planning manager with Eddie Stobart for nearly five years.
“With his strong track record in transport and experience of working within the retail sector, Graeme will bring fresh insight to our transport operation,” said Marcus Boardall, deputy chief executive. “He will be focusing on finding new opportunities and helping us to be even better at what we do. Working alongside Andrew Baldwin, managing director of our cold storage division, we have a great team in place to take the business forward.”
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me to move back into transport and to work for one of the leading refrigerated logistics companies in the UK. I’m really looking forward to being part of a family business where I can make a real difference,” commented Richardson.
Reed Boardall ranks as one of the largest temperature controlled food distribution businesses in the United Kingdom, storing and delivering frozen food from manufacturers across Britain, Europe and further afield to leading supermarkets throughout the UK. Operating 24/7, it employs over 750 people and stores around £100 million worth of products on behalf of customers.
