Representatives of Farm Frites recently met with Askar Myrzakhmetov, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, to discuss plans for constructing a frozen potato products factory in the northeastern part of the country.
Koktem Agrorservice LLP is currently negotiating project details. The investment calls for the Oudenhoorn, Holland-headquartered company to build a plant that would have annual processing capacity of 140,000 tons.
Farm Frites agronomists are currently surveying the resource base of the Pavlodar and Karaganda regions of the northern central Asia country for compliance with potato cultivation technology, technical equipment, storage facilities availability, and the climatic conditions, according to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The family-owned Dutch company, established in 1971, ranks among the top five value-added potato product suppliers in the world. Farm Frites processes over 1.3 million tons of tubers per annum and offers a wide range of frozen and chilled french fries and other potato products to customers in more than 80 countries. It operates six plants, has 40 sales offices and employs approximately 1,500 employees.
