Steenderen, Holland-headquartered Aviko, a unit of Royal Consun, has extended its Ras range of frozen french fries with the debut of Skinny Fries. Promoted as the thinnest fries available in its wide portfolio of potato specialty offerings, the product is crisp on the outside and soft in the inside.
Distribution is in 600-gram polybags that graphically depict an image of fries tucked into the back pocket of a pair of blue jeans bearing a round patch proclaiming: “I Love (symbolized by a red heart) Skinny Fries.” This marks a visual evolution of the “I Love Ras Original” campaign aimed at youthful consumers.
The suggested retail sales price is €2.19, and preparation time is two minutes if deep fried or 12 minutes if oven baked.
Ranked as the largest producer of value-added potato products in Holland and the fourth largest in the world, Aviko processes approximately 1.7 million tons of potatoes annually at plants in Europe and Asia, which include joint ventures in China operating under the Aviko-Snow Valley banner.
