McCain Foods Names New President for Canada Operations

McCain Foods Limited has announced that Shai Altman as will assume the presidency of the Toronto, Canada-headquartered company effective October 20, 2014. Replacing Darryl Rowe, who stepped down last December, he will have full responsibility for Canadian operations.

Altman joins McCain from the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, where he has held increasingly senior cross functional roles since 1997. He started his career in sales, moved through key account management and customer marketing jobs, and then went on to lead the consumer marketing team. Since 2002 he has worked as general manager of Wrigley in Israel and India, and has held the position of president at Wrigley Canada since 2009.

“Shai’s passion, expertise in and dedication to strategic growth will be of great value to McCain,” said President and CEO Dirk Van de Put. “He will be a tremendous asset to both our Canadian business and our North American senior leadership team.”

McCain Foods Limited is a major player in the global frozen food industry, employing more than 20,000 people and operating 47 production facilities on six continents. A privately-owned company headquartered in Florenceville, New Brunswick and Toronto, McCain generates annual sales of approximately CDN$7 billion. In addition to frozen potato products, its range extends from pizza and appetizers to desserts and vegetables.
