Smithfield Foods is expanding its product offerings with the introduction of six fully cooked breakfast sandwiches and sausage products distributed in the frozen food departments of retail stores throughout the United States.

“As a nationwide leader in the breakfast category, we are excited to build upon the equity of our bacon and ham products and bring the traditional taste of Smithfield right to the freezer aisle. We’re excited to offer convenient, on-the-go options for consumers looking to enjoy an easy breakfast any time of day,” said Mike Merritt, senior director of brand marketing of the Smithfield, Virginia-headquartered company.

Targeting the almost one-third of American households that purchase breakfast sandwiches regularly, Smithfield is rolling out microwaveable Southern-style biscuit sandwiches in Hometown Original Sausage, Maple Sausage, and Chicken varieties. Selling for $4.99, each package contains four individually wrapped, 12-ounced sandwiches.

Meanwhile, its fully cooked frozen sausage links and patties offerings are made with premium quality pork devoid of MSG, artificial ingredients and preservatives. The 24-ounce packs retail at $4.99.
