sonny perdueSonny Perdue, US Agriculture SecretaryUS Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue will be the keynote speaker at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which kicks off on January 30 and runs through February 1 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Prior to his 11 AM address on January 31, leading economists and industry experts will discuss global trends, changes and challenges from 9-10:30 AM.

The exposition, which is billed as the world’s largest annual B2B gathering for the poultry, meat and feed industries, will feature products and services from more than 1,200 exhibitors. It is again expected to host approximately 30,000 visitors, of which more than 8,000 will come from 129 countries outside the United States.

The trade fair – actually three shows in one covering the entire scope of protein production and processing – features the International Poultry Expo, International Meat Expo and International Feed Expo under one roof. Sponsored by the US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY), the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) and the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), organizers are providing a wide range of services to international delegates including buyer matching, export counseling and translation assistance.

Exhibitors include many companies that supply processing, packaging and freezing equipment to the frozen food industry. One of them is Rice Lake Weighing Systems, which will hold forth at Booth 963 in Hall C. It will showcase commercial-grade weighing and processing machinery designed for meat and feed production plants, as well as washdown equipment, metal detection systems, hanging scales and checkweighers, and the 1280 Enterprise digital weight indicator.

Rice Lake Industries FoodProcessing CW90XProducts such as the CW-90X over/under checkweigher and RoughDeck QC-X adhere to strict hygiene and pathogen control practices. Made to help meet HACCP requirements, the CW-90X bench checkweigher is IP69K-rated to withstand rigorous handling and high-pressure washdowns. The hermetically sealed load cells and breathable yet watertight indicator enclosure allows it to function accurately without condensation or water damage.

Constructed of 304 stainless steel, the RoughDeck QC-X washdown floor scale is designed according to the American Meat Institute’s (AMI) Sanitary Design Principles (SDP), with its top plate capable of opening to reveal a completely washable interior. Also in high profile at IPPE 2018 will be the MotoWeigh Metal Detection System that ensures product safety and quality by detecting ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel contaminants with critical sensitivity.

Visitors to Booth 963 will be able to see demonstrations in which the 482 Legend Series and 1280 Enterprise digital weight indicators are connected to Rice Lake’s weighing equipment for state-of-the-art process control and communication. Experts from the Rice Lake, Wisconsin-headquartered company will be on hand to answer questions about instrumentation products and their task performance in every type of industry.
