Global flavors continue to inspire today’s menus. From colorful Latin American dishes and Mediterranean classics to the bold tastes of Asian cuisine, consumers are eager to discover food from around the world. With its extensive range of fresh-frozen vegetables, herbs and fruit,

With 16 production, packaging and distribution sites across seven countries, Ardooie, Belgium-headquartered Ardo  gives chefs the ingredients they need to bring these international flavors to the table. And they will be in high profile at Stand T199 in Hall 5A during the October 17-21 SIAL trade fair in Paris.

World cuisine is all about variety. Vegetables bring color, texture and character to the plate, while herbs create distinctive flavor profiles and fruit adds sweetness and freshness to an unexpected finishing touch. Ardo offers all three in one broad fresh-frozen range.

Ready to use and available all year round, Ardo products make it easier to experiment with cuisines from across the globe, while reducing preparation in the kitchen. From a spicy stir fry to a colorful salad, a Mediterranean side dish or a tropical dessert, chefs can combine ingredients in countless ways and add their own creative signature.

Ready-to-eat Inspiration with Insalatas del Mundo

Ardo’s Insalatas del Mundo (pictured above) bring convenience and international inspiration together. These colorful thaw-and-serve combinations can be used as a salad, side dish or as a starting point for a more elaborate creation.

Insalata Mediterranea: Italy on Your Plate

A colorful pasta salad with al dente penne, crisp vegetables, juicy cherry tomatoes and an Italian herb dressing.

Insalata Sapphira: A Taste of the Middle East

A modern mix with bulgur, farro, chickpeas, vegetables, fruit and a Persian-inspired dressing with sumac and mint.

Insalata Olympia: A Journey to Greece

A Greek inspired orzo salad with lentils, Mediterranean vegetables, olives and a sweet mustard dressing.

Insalata Eldorado: The Colors of Latin America

A colorful gluten-free mix of quinoa, beans, sweetcorn, mango and vegetables, finished with Thousand Island dressing.

Latin Inspiration: Avocado, Corn Ribs and Tropical Fruit

Latin American cuisine is known for its colorful ingredients and vibrant flavor combinations. Avocado (diced and halves) is an obvious match, whether used in ceviche inspired dishes, bowls, salads dips or toppings.

Ardo’s corn ribs (whole and halves) offer another playful way to put vegetables center stage, ideal as a side, snack or sharing dish.

Fruit adds another dimension. Pineapple and mango work just as well beyond the dessert menu. Their natural sweetness creates interesting contrasts in salsas, salads and savory dishes, while they remain an easy starting point for tropical desserts and drinks.

Mediterranean Favorites, Ready for the Chef’s Finishing Touch

Mediterranean cuisine puts vegetables and herbs firmly in the spotlight. Ardo offers numerous ingredients that fit naturally into this style of cooking.

Spinach Mediterranea is a carefully crafted blend of tender spinach, cherry tomatoes, grilled red and yellow peppers, and grilled onions. Enhanced with a delicate mix of sunflower and olive oils, basil, and aromatic herbs and spices, it offers a burst of Mediterranean flavor in every bite and is a versatile base for dishes ranging from pasta and oven entrées to sides and classics such as spanakopita.

Grilled vegetables, including grilled aubergine and peppers, bring color and roasted character to the plate and can be incorporated into salads, pasta dishes, bowls, sandwiches or warm sides.

For recipes where the flavor starts with the base, Ardo’s Soffritto mix offers a convenient starting point for Mediterranean cooking. It can help chefs build flavor for sauces, soups, stews and numerous other preparations without the time-consuming preparation of individual vegetables.

Asian Flavors in Just a Few Steps

Asian cuisines offer endless possibilities for combining vegetables, herbs and fruit.  Ardo’s Chop Suey mix provides a colorful vegetable base for wok dishes, noodles and other Asian inspired recipes.

Herbs are particularly important in creating a recognizable flavor profile. Ardo’s herbs, ingredients and herb mixes make it easy to bring several culinary directions into the kitchen.

One Freezer, a World of Possibilities

Rather than offering one fixed solution for world cuisine, Ardo provides chefs with the building blocks to create their own. Vegetables, herbs and fruit can be mixed and matched across cuisines, making it easy to move from Mediterranean classics to Asian favorites or colorful Latin American dishes. With one broad fresh-frozen range, inspiration can come from virtually anywhere in the world.

Convenience Meets Creativity

In a busy professional kitchen, convenience is essential. Ardo’s products are already washed, cut and ready to portion, saving valuable preparation time and helping chefs achieve consistent results. Products such as the Insalatas go one step further: already seasoned, they simply need to be thawed before serving.

This convenience still leaves plenty of room for the chef’s own touch. Serve products as they are or use them as a starting point for salads, buffets, sides, takeaway concepts, event catering or creative à la carte dishes. Less preparation means more time to focus on the final creation.

Hanover Foods Corp. has launched a Skinny Veg frozen vegetable product line in the United States to serve the growing market of consumers using GLP-1 weight-loss medications. The assortment includes Broccoli & Quinoa, Brussels Sprouts & Couscous, Spinach & Blackeye Peas, and Riced Cauliflower & Lentils.

“We believe the ingredient list should be the least surprising part of your meal, which is why Skinny Veg is intentionally simple,” said Jeff Warehime, chief executive officer of the Hanover, Pennsylvania-headquartered company. “Our Skinny Veg sides have just five simple ingredients [one vegetable, one grain or legume, avocado oil, pepper and sea salt]. There are no additives or preservatives – just real food for real people.”

He continued: ”We know consumers are looking for smart, healthy options that pack a flavorful punch. Our Skinny Veg products offer a healthy option from a trusted source. For more than 100 years, we have been a family-owned company that is committed to producing quality foods made with care and delivered with excellence, from seed to fork. That’s our mission.”

Actual Veggies, the frozen food brand built around real vegetables and recognizable ingredients, has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000. The Denver, Colorado-headquartered company ranks No. 614 overall and No. 30 in Food & Beverage after delivering 561% revenue growth from 2022 through 2025.

This marks Actual Veggies’ second consecutive year among the list’s top 1,000 companies and its second as the fastest-growing plant-based meatless brand represented. It debuted at No. 561 in 2025 after posting 732% three-year growth.

The recognition validates the company’s thinking. When Actual Veggies launched in more than 350 Sprouts Farmers Market stores in summer 2021, much of the plant-based industry was focused on products designed to imitate meat.

Actual Veggies took the opposite approach: thick, colorful burgers made from vegetables, legumes, grains and spices consumers could see and recognize. Its belief was simple: vegetables did not need to imitate meat to earn a place at the center of the plate.

“When we entered retail, the category was focused on fake meat. We made the opposite bet,” said Hailey Swartz, co-founder and co-chief executive officer. “We believed consumers wanted real food and that vegetables could be the hero. Consumers are shifting in our direction. Being the Inc. 5000’s fastest-growing plant-based meatless company for two consecutive years validates where the category is going.”

Actual Veggies surpassed $20 million in sales during 2025 and projects $30 million in 2026. Its products are available in more than 15,000 retail locations across the USA, including Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Sprouts and Albertsons.

Recent Milestones include the following:
• Launching its first organic burger this summer, a Costco-exclusive 10-count Organic Black Bean Veggie Burger across multiple Costco regions.

• Expanding into family-friendly foods with vegetable-packed Dinosaur Nuggets, introduced nationwide at Whole Foods Market and select Kroger banners.

• Becoming the No. 1 brand by dollar sales in the entire plant-based meat category within the natural channel, according to SPINS Natural Expanded data for the four weeks ending May 17, 2026.

• Earning the No. 1 position in Chowhound’s August taste test of popular veggie burgers for grilling with the California Garden Veggie Burger.

“Consumers are not turning away from plant-based food – they are becoming more thoughtful about what they buy,” said Swartz. “People still want convenient meatless options, but increasingly want real food and recognizable ingredients. We built Actual Veggies for this moment.”

Kad Bnei Darom has launched a line of frozen herbs in 200 ml containers that scoop effortlessly straight from the freezer. It has also introduced popular spreads, traditionally sold in the refrigerated aisle of grocery stores, into the same frozen format. The new collection will be unveiled at the June 28-30 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.

Marketed under the brand name Cuca, the new range of scoopable freshly frozen herbs unites convenience with environmental consciousness while responding to the growing consumer demand for minimally processed food products. The herbs come in six varieties: cilantro, parsley, garlic, onion, white and red horseradish. The condiments line includes sundried tomato spread and olive tapenade. All are available under private label.

Fresh herbs are culinary kitchen essentials. They are commonly sold frozen and cubed into portions in plastic trays to overcome the myriad of challenges in handling fresh ingredients. Freezing eliminates the preparation time spent washing, drying, and chopping them. It also addresses the highly perishable nature and short shelf life of fresh green herbs, which leads to waste and frequent shopping trips. Indeed, a recent study in the British Food Journal revealed that households discard only 6% of frozen foods compared to much higher rates for fresh produce.

As frozen herbs transition from niche specialty status to one of mainstream convenience, major European and US retailers are increasingly launching their own private label versions. Yet the traditional frozen formats that are popped out of molds come with setbacks: users often struggle with the packaging to extract the product, the herbs require defrosting due to unworkable hard textures, and the flavor profiles are compromised. Dried herbs, commonplace in North America, lose their volatile oils, impacting flavor, aroma color, and nutritional value.

Smooth and Creamy
Cuca frozen herbs and spreads were crafted by Kad in collaboration with Practical Innovation, an innovation development firm dedicated to helping companies initiate next-generation solutions. The patent-protected technology involves the use of a plant-protein base combined with freezing point lowering technology. This creates a soft, creamy texture that is sustained throughout freezing, without the addition of salt, sugar or fat, and makes the herbs easy to work with even when completely frozen.

“Our Cuca frozen herbs are designed to elevate the user experience for the home chef,” said David Ben-Ze’ev, chief executive officer of Bnei Darom, Israel-based Kad Bnei Darom. “The smooth, creamy herbs are ready to use straight from the freezer, delivering the precise desired portion with an effortless glide onto the spoon. The jar is then returned to the freezer where the herbs continue to preserve their freshness, flavor and nutritional value as well as their creamy texture. No defrosting, chopping, or waste.”

Cuca herbs are also cost efficient, suitable for repeated, high-volume use and optimizing ingredient performance. Moreover, being able to freeze popular artisan spreads, significantly extends their shelf life while maintaining the same smooth texture and sensory enjoyment.

Farm-to-Table
Founded in 1974, Kad Bnei Darom is a leading Israeli producer of premium, fresh agricultural produce, including pickled vegetables, olive oil, and condiments. It operates as part of the agricultural cooperative village (kibbutz) Bnei Darom in southern Israel. This allows the company to run an almost vertically integrated operation, having nurtured decades-long partnerships with the farmers who cultivate their raw materials and serve as an integral part of the company’s production process. It product are exported to Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, Russia and Ukraine.

Israeli agrifood company Kad Bnei Darom has introduced Cuca Herb Pops. After debuting at the PLMA’s World Private Label International Trade Show in Amsterdam on May 19, the flash-frozen product will be showcased at the Segev Food International booth during the June 28-30 Fancy Food Show in New York City.

In a paradigm shift from pre-portioned frozen herbs distributed in rigid molded plastic trays, Kad’s refashioned minced herbs are transitioned into uniform 15-gram spheres sealed in flexible pouches that require no individual wrapping.

Beyond their role in saving freezer space, the novel nearly packaging-free delivery system is designed to be environmentally friendly by eliminating the need for plastic trays, including the plastic films that seal the frozen produce. This cuts packaging costs as well as waste of highly perishable herbs.

Freeze, Pop, and Drop
Developed in collaboration with Practical Innovation, a firm dedicated to assisting companies in the creation of next-generation products and solutions, Cuca frozen pops help cooks and chefs in homes or commercial kitchens save time and labor washing and chopping fresh herbs. They can simply pop and drop the product straight into the recipe with ease. There’s no compromise on quality or having to hassle with complex packaging to access the herbs. Kad’s herb pops provide precise portion control, and maintain the herbs’ texture, flavor and nutritional value even after defrosting.

“We have been in the business of growing fresh produce and creating artisan products for more than 50 years,” said CEO David Ben-Ze’ev. “While honoring our traditional roots, Cuca Pops mark Kad’s expanding foothold in food innovation, bringing vibrancy, ease, and environmental consciousness into every kitchen. Our product is creating a new category in the global fresh herbs market, valued at tens of billions of dollars.”

Kad operates a near-fully vertically integrated operation, growing herbs with partner farmers in the Arava desert. The herbs go from field to frozen at the source soon after harvest, without any intermediary packaging. This serves to lock in “just-picked” flavor, aroma, color, and nutritional value of the produce.

The herbs are frozen using advanced IQF technology for the creation of perfect spheres that do not stick to each other inside the pouch. This allows for seamless extraction and prevents rapid thawing while ensuring structural stability throughout freeze/thaw cycles. The herb pops maintain their form even when left outside the freezer.

The product currently comes in six varieties: garlic, parsley, cilantro, dill. onion and basil. They are 100% natural and contain no added or artificial ingredients. The pouches are designed to be user-friendly and sustainable.

“These individual, quick-use frozen herb balls were crafted to respond to demands for top quality natural ingredients that provide convenience, precision, and flexibility while solving the overuse of plastic packaging and food waste,” said Tal Leizer, chief executive officer of Practical Innovation. “Fresh green herbs are highly perishable by nature and known to be particularly prone to degradation.”

Home Cooking Revival
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, consumers around the world have rekindled a connection with the kitchen. They are increasingly embracing home cooking in pursuit of healthier and more harmonious lifestyles, as well as to balance living expenses. At the same time, daily hectic schedules compel them to seek simple, time-saving solutions that deliver quality, enjoyment, and sustainability without compromise.

Innova Market Insights reports a 30% net global shift toward eating at home vs. eating out, with more individuals opting for home-cooked meals. Another likely contributing factor to this trend is that 45% of consumers globally work from home at least once a week.

“Cuca Herb Pops represent the first creation in our collection of advanced flash-frozen formats, offering cooks versatile and smarter ways to store, prepare, and enjoy fresh herbs in their everyday cooking routines,” concluded Ben-Ze’ev.

B&G Foods has sold its Green Giant US frozen vegetable product line to Seneca Foods Corporation. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Parsippany, New Jersey-headquartered company previously sold the Green Giant US shelf stable vegetable product line to Fairport, New York-based Seneca Foods in November of 2023 and the Le Sueur US shelf stable vegetable range to McCall Farms in August 2025.

Additionally, in October of 2025, B&G Foods entered into an agreement to sell the Green Giant and Le Sieur frozen and shelf stable vegetable product lines in Canada to Nortera Foods. The company expects that sale to close during the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval in Canada and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Seneca Foods is one of North America’s leading providers of packaged fruits and vegetables, with facilities located throughout the United States. Its products are primarily sourced from more than 1,100 American farms and are distributed to approximately 55 countries. It holds a large share of the market for retail private label, foodservice, restaurant chains, contracting packaging and cherry products.

“The sale of Green Giant US frozen represents another milestone in our ongoing effort to divest brands and product lines that are non-core to B&G Foods’ long-term strategy, sharpen our focus and reduce long-term debt,” said Casey Keller, B&G’s president and chief executive officer. “Moreover, we believe that reuniting the Green Giant US frozen product line with the Green Giant US shelf stable product line under the ownership of Seneca Foods, one of the largest processors of fruits and vegetables in the United States, is an important next step for the future of the Green Giant brand and is in the best interests of the millions of consumers who know and love the iconic brand.”

The transaction includes B&G Foods’ frozen vegetable manufacturing operations in Yuma, Arizona. B&G will maintain its frozen vegetable manufacturing operations in Irapuato, Mexico, and has entered into a co-pack agreement with Seneca Foods pursuant to which it will continue to produce certain Green Giant frozen products for Seneca Foods.

B&G intends to use the proceeds from the sale for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of long-term debt and the purchase of assets useful in its business, and to pay taxes, fees and expenses related to the transaction.

Dole Packaged Foods has unveiled a major expansion of its fast-growing Dole Whip retail offerings, introducing new formats and a tropical flavor that accentuates smooth, creamy texture and real fruit flavor – all without dairy or high fructose corn syrup. Its new Tropical Guava Passion offering has joined Pineapple and Mango flavors now available in the frozen section of grocery stores across North America.

“Dole Whip is everything today’s consumers are searching for but couldn’t previously find in the freezer aisle,” said Mike Secor, vice president of marketing at Westlake Village, California-based Dole Packaged Foods US. “It’s a moment of sunshine – smooth, creamy, vibrant, made with real fruit – and unlike anything else on the market. That’s why this isn’t just a new product launch, it’s a category disruption.”

Boasting a real fruit foundation and creamy texture, the Dole Whip retail range isn’t ice cream, sorbet, sherbet, or gelato. The rollout is being presented a step into establishing a new frozen dessert category anchored in fruit-first indulgence.

The products have been stocked at Albertson’s, Harris Teeter, Publix, Ralph’s, Stop & Shop, Hannaford, Target, and other grocery stores and supermarkets, with a seasonal listing scheduled at Costco this spring.
