Lamb Weston’s Frenzy Fries recently struck gold at the National Restaurant Pub & Bar Show Innovation Challenge in London. The award winning coated potato product features a unique three-sided cut that served a longer-lasting crispy bite compared to uncoated fries.

The competition among the most innovative products launched during the previous 12 months was among companies that were shortlisted by voting visitors to the show. On day two, representatives of those companies made live pitches to judges, who this year included Karen Bosher of the Livelyhood Pub Company, Alex Large from Brother Marcus, Jane Treasure, former director of food at Pizza Express, Lucy Barker of the Stonegate Group, Peter Woods from Hawksmoor, Penelope Bruce from Greene King, and Chris Stagg of the Peach Pub Co.

“This is a triumph for the team involved in the launch of Frenzy Fries as they were designed to offer a memorable food experience, have standout in the market and help operators create a point of difference. Winning a Gold award, and hearing the judges’ comments means we have achieved our goal,” said Ash Liles (pictured above at right), trade marketing manager for Lamb Weston EMMA.

Headquartered in Eagle, Idaho, USA, Lamb Weston serves foodservice, QSR and retail market segments in over 100 countries around the world. Its wide range of value added frozen potato, snack and appetizer products includes Twisters, Potato Dippers and Connoisseur Fries. The company operates six factories in Europe: four in the Netherlands, one in the United Kingdom and one in Austria.
