Nomad Foods has announced plans to further strengthen its leadership structure with the appointment of two new presidents. Both will report directly to CEO Dominic Brisby. This news follows the recent hiring of Simon Ball as president for UK and Ireland operations, responsible for the Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie’s, and Goodfella’s brands.
Jon Fernandez de Barrena (pictured above), will join the Woking, England-headquartered frozen food company on April 13 as president for Southern Europe operations. He will take charge of business strategy and performance in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Adriatics.
Nomad Foods has also announced its intention to name a president later this year to head up activities in Central Europe. The newcomer will oversee commercial operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland Denmark and Norway.
“These appointments represent an important step as we continue to strengthen our focus and unlock the full potential of markets across Europe. Both roles will help sharpen our commercial execution, enhance agility and create greater alignment between our local teams, brands, and our long term strategic priorities,” said CEO Brisby. “I am delighted to welcome Jon [who was previously chief executive officer at Alvinesa Natural Ingredients] this month and look forward to completing the appointment of our president for Central Europe later this year.”
The Southern Europe and Central Europe presidents will lead the company’s extensive portfolio of frozen food brands, which include Findus, iglo, Ledo and Frikom.
Meanwhile, Nomad Foods has also confirmed that it plans to appoint a chief marketing officer, who will join the executive team and head a strengthened and more unified marketing function spanning brand development, communications, RDQ and innovation to drive stronger commercial outcomes and sustainable growth.
