Saucy Fish 'Swims' into Whole Foods Market in USA
Ready-to-eat seafood products from The Saucy Fish Co. are now available at Whole Foods Market outlets in the United States. The brand’s signature fish and sauce products, made from previously frozen salmon and other species, meet the natural and organic food retailer’s rigorous seafood sustainability standards and are now available in 135 stores across four regions, which will increase to 181 units across five regions after Christmas.
Whole Foods Market is offering three new Saucy products from the Grimsby, England-headquartered company's line of precooked seafood with complementary sauces, including roasted salmon with sticky maple sauce, steamed salmon fillets with lime and cilantro sauce, and roasted lemon and herb salmon with Sicilian lemon and dill mayo. Sales are being supported initially through in-store sampling in selected stores.
The Whole Foods Market listing is the latest in a string of international moves for The Saucy Fish Co, which is a unit of Icelandic Seachill. The brand is now available in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Belgium, as well as the USA.

Whole Foods is a household name is the United States, so we’re delighted to be launching the latest additions to our ready-to-eat line in such a well-respected retailer.”
The Saucy Fish Co. entered the Unites States market earlier this year with the launch of seven value-added seafood products at Giant Carlisle and Giant Landover supermarket outlets. The brand, which has been carried by the UK’s five major retailers for a number of years now, offers fish fillets served up with what it calls “just the right sauce for a dish with maximum flavor and minimum fuss, enabling chefs of all abilities to create a simple but sensational fish dish in the comfort of their own home.”
The initial range of premium mealtime options introduced to Americans featured two products exclusive to the market – Salmon with a Sweet Soy & Chili dressing, and Tilapia with a Red Thai Sauce Foil Bake Bag. Also in distribution are five popular products from the UK, namely: Salmon with Chili, Lime and Ginger; Tilapia with Mango & Chili Dressing; and Foil Bake Bag Salmon with Sweet Chili Dressing.
