LW/M Finalizes Purchase of Oerlemans’ Potato Division

Lamb Weston/Meijer (LW/M) has completed its acquisition of the potato division of Oerlemans Foods. The purchase includes a frozen potato processing facility in Broekhuizenvorst, the Netherlands, which will add 85,000 tons of production capacity to the network of Eagle, Idaho, USA-headquartered Lamb Weston Holdings’ European joint venture business.

Its customer base includes quick service restaurant operators and other foodservice accounts as well as supermarket and grocery store chains.

Production takes place at five factories: three in the Netherlands, one in the United Kingdom and the fifth in Austria. The company employs 1,300 people in the EMEA region.
