Rosina Food Products, a West Seneca, New York-headquartered producer of Italian specialty products, is recalling approximately 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) frozen meatballs that may be contaminated with metal, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on February 24. They were packed on July 30, 2025, and shipped to Aldi supermarket locations across the United States.

Distributed in 32-oz. poly film bags, the fully cooked Bremer brand Family Size Italian Style Meatballs have a “Best By” date of 10/30/26 with time stamps between 17:08 and 18:20 printed on the back of the label, and establishment number “EST. 4286B” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Their shelf life is 15 months.

The recall was triggered after FSIS received a consumer complaint regarding metal fragments found within the product. Thus far there have been no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of the meatballs.

FSIS is concerned that some packs may be in home freezers or refrigerators. Shoppers who have purchased these meatballs are urged not to consume them. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
