Ardooie, Belgium-headquartered frozen vegetable and fruit specialist Ardo NV is expanding cold storage capacity by 20% at its United Kingdom factory complex in Charing, Kent. Approximately £4 million is being invested in the project, which upon completion in October will boost the facility’s available pallet positions from 19,000 to 23,200.

Ardo’s state-of-the-art production plant in Charing, situated close to the Channel Tunnel and Port of Dover, received Frozen Food Manufacturing Company of the Year recognition in 2013.

The Ardo Group, which owns and operates processing facilities throughout Europe, packed 608,000 tons of finished product in 2012 and generated EUR 636 million in sales revenue. In addition to providing retail, foodservice and industrial markets with a myriad of vegetable and fruit products, Ardo supplies value-added rice and pasta items.
