Baked Earth Bakery has launched two new frozen flatbread wraps for foodservice operators in the United Kingdom. The fully baked, round Turkish and Greek style offerings can be loaded with tasty ingredients to create a light lunch or a to-go snack, or used as an accompaniment to dips.

Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, both products are distributed by Central Foods. Each can be oven warmed from frozen in four to five minutes, or grilled in a few minutes. They can also be defrosted and eaten cold.

“We have been baking flatbreads for almost 35 years, continually innovating and creating new and exciting products for our foodservice customers. Our newest products are just perfect for the latest trends in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine,” said Dan Butt, managing director of Nottingham, England-based Baked Earth.

Each product measures approximately 200 mm in diameter. The Turkish style flatbread is topped with brown and yellow linseeds and kalonji (black onion) seeds, while the Greek version is embedded with ancient grains, such as linseeds, sunflower seeds, millet, wheat flakes, oat flakes, barley flakes and crushed rye.
