Turri’s Italian Foods, a Fund II portfolio company holding of Chicago, Illinois-based Benford Capital Partners (BCP), has acquired Joseph’s Gourmet Pasta. Together, Turri’s and Joseph’s form one of the largest USA-based suppliers of frozen pasta, rice, and sauce products. The company serves a broad and diversified customer base, including restaurant chains, independent foodservice operators, food manufacturers, national retailers, large CPG brands and distributors.
BCP partnered with members of the Joseph’s and Turri’s management teams to complete the acquisition, terms of which were not disclosed. David Zwartendijk, Joseph’s chief executive officer, will lead the combined organization going forward under BCP’s ownership.

Founded in 1991 and based near Boston, Massachusetts, Joseph’s operates from a 160,000-square foot, state-of-the art facility, it is renowned for culinary innovation, high-quality ingredients, and a premium product portfolio.
Turri’s, established in 1949 and located near Detroit, Michigan, produces individually quick frozen ready-to-eat pasta, rice and grains for national restaurant chains, industrial customers, large CPGs, and foodservice distributors.
