Birds Eye UK is launching an innovative set of high-protein ready meals in a new range under the ‘Get Real’ banner. With an array of health benefits and world food-inspired flavors, it offers a broader variety of options to attract health-conscious shoppers to retail frozen food aisles in the United Kingdom.
Adding a new dimension to its core range, the meals are formulated to help retailers tap into the growing protein market and demand for functional nutrition. Indeed, according to “The Rise in Functional FMCG in the UK Report” published by Nielsen in March of 2025, 60% of shoppers in Britain are now choosing products based on specific health benefits – an increase of 7% compared to last year.

Flavorful, balanced and packed with an average of 34 grams of protein, the Get Real range will appeal to busy consumers looking for nutritious meals that don’t compromise on taste. Featuring four products – Mexican Chicken Burrito Bowl, Red Thai Chicken Curry, Indian Chicken Curry and Moroccan Chicken Rice Bowl – each is loaded with vegetables. All offerings contain at least two of the five-a-day veggie recommendation, as well as 8-11 grams of fiber, and flavorful sauces developed by the Birds Eye team.
Every Get Real bowl delivers a natural protein boost from real ingredients, with all four dishes packed full of protein-rich chickpeas that help to create thick, creamy consistency of the sauce as well as complement the lean chicken base.

Protein plays a vital role in supporting muscle maintenance and growth, making these bowls especially beneficial for persons who regularly exercise and those seeking functional nutrition. Alongside pulses, the bowls feature a variety of vegetables and rice, ensuring a balanced, tasty and nutrient-rich meal.
The dishes, which contain artificial additives or preservatives, are loaded with vitamins and minerals in including phosphorus, designed to support bone health and energy, aligning with the needs of today’s wellness-focused consumer.
Furthermore, each bowl takes just seven minutes to prepare in microwave ovens, tapping into the growing trend of convenience cooking which is dominating at-home dinner occasions. Almost a quarter of shoppers (24%) in the UK will purchase a ready meal at least once a week, rising to more than one-third (34%) of Gen Z shoppers, according to a YouGov Survey conducted last October.
Birds Eye’s Get Real Protein range is now available at ASDA, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores, with the rollout continuing with additional retailers in 2026. The MRSP is £3.75.
