Ashford, Kent-headquartered Brakes, Britain’s leading foodservice supplier, has announced the second round of its ‘Get Set Supply!’ program, designed to help small businesses break into the wholesale market.

Following the successful completion of the first round of presentations, the Sysco company will reveal the companies selected from the initial wave in the New Year.

Applications for the next round are now being accepted. After an online application process, approximately 12 shortlisted companies will be invited to attend a quarterly innovation session, where they will showcase their products to key procurement contacts and customers.

Successful suppliers will then have their products listed and receive tailored support to grow within Brakes, including sales presentations, sampling opportunities and promotional activities. Other aspects of the comprehensive support package offered include mentoring from experienced Brakes colleagues and established suppliers, as well as guidance on driving sales.

Brakes has also committed to training its merchandising team to provide dedicated support to food producers joining the program.

Paul Nieduszynski, CEO of Sysco GB, commented: “Get Set Supply! is all about creating opportunities for smaller suppliers and helping them thrive in the wholesale market. By providing mentoring, exposure, and practical support, we’re creating opportunities for innovation and diversity in our supply chain – which ultimately benefits our customers and the industry as a whole.”
