Building Better Private Label Partnership Theme of PLMA Meeting

Speakers and panelists have been announced for the Private Label Manufacturer Association’s 2020 Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference, which is set for March 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. Under the banner “Building a Better Private Label Partnership,” the gathering of leading private label product producers, buyers and retailers will include the PLMA’s Annual Golf Tournament on March 27 at the Gainey Ranch Gold Club.

The education program starts with Ken Harris, managing partner at Cadent Consulting Group. New studies by the Wilton, Connecticut-based group document the importance of store brands to profitability, while highlighting the need for closer working relations between suppliers and retailers.

Providing the retail perspective will be Nancy Cota, vice president of product management at the Boise, Idaho-headquartered Albertsons grocery chain.

The manufacturer’s point of view will be spotlighted by Tom Ewing, former director at T. Marzetti Company, the Westerville, Ohio-headquartered specialty food unit of the Lancaster Colony Corporation. Among its frozen products are Sister Schubert’s dinner rolls and other baked goods, Mamma Bella’s garlic toast, and New York brand cheese sticks, bread sticks and Texas toast.

The second day of the program will be devoted to motivational speaker Duncan Wardle, founder of ID8 and former head of innovation at Disney, who specializes in helping companies develop innovative and collaborative solutions to sales and marketing challenges.

A reception and dinner featuring Mark Nadler and Christine Pedi is set for 7 PM on Saturday, March 28. On the final day, March 29, a board of directors meeting is on the agenda.
