Dawn Foods Points Way to Finger Donut as Creative, Innovative Treat

Dawn Foods in the United Kingdom has added a Finger Donut to its range of ready-to-finish frozen donuts. Defrosting in just two hours after removal from the freezer, the light eating treat provides bakers and caterers a quick and easy way to add another option to existing donut offerings.

The new format takes the traditional finger bun onto a different level, as the Finger Donut is for splitting and filling with jam and cream to create classic British teatime cakes. Distribution is in packs of 36 pieces to a case.

The marketing department at Evesham, UK-based Dawn Foods is promoting the versatility of finger donuts that can be filled, topped and decorated tin many ways, using Dawn’s range of frosting, fillings, icings and decorations.

Foodservice operators can get creative with flavors too by offering seasonal or ethnic specials. Dawn recommends incorporating exotic ingredients and dates into donut fillings, especially those with an on-trend Japanese influence such as ginseng, cardamom, yuzu, orange blossom or even turmeric to bring an extra flavor dimension and perceived health benefits.
