DHL Supply Chain, the DHL Group’s contract logistics division, and iglo Deutschland have renewed their long-standing partnership for an additional five years. The Bonn-headquartered company will continue to manage the frozen food brand’s central warehouse and in-plant logistics in Reken, Westphalia, as well as all transport logistics.

The companies have been working together for more than 25 years, during which time the partnership has evolved from a regional distribution model into a comprehensive end-to-end logistics alliance. What started with basic transport and distribution has since grown into a central logistics hub for most iglo products in Germany.

“Our partnership with iglo is defined by trust, reliability and shared objectives – particularly in the area of sustainability,” stated Markus Schade, DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps’ transport business unit director. “We use modern, lower carbon emission vehicle technologies – including electric trailers, alternative drive systems and trucks powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or HVO100, a high-quality biodiesel fuel. This allows us to reduce CO2 emissions and jointly advance the transformation of transport logistics towards a more sustainable future.”

“DHL has been a reliable partner for many years and consistently delivers high quality service. Extending our collaboration is a natural next step as we work together to further develop our logistics processes and make them future ready,” said iglo Deutschland CEO Volker Büttel.
