Clive’s Purely Plants tasted victory twice in the 2022 Plant-Based Taste Awards competition organized by FoodBev. The Dartmouth, Devon, England-based company’s Organic Red Pepper Harissa Quiche with a pumpkin seed crumb took top honors in the Deli category, while its Organic Coronation Chickpea Puff Pie with creamy coconut and apricot was No. 1 in the Pie/Pastry category.
Both products, which are currently listed at Waitrose retail stores across Britain, thaw from frozen in 40 to 45 minutes. The quiche is typically consumed cold or at room temperature, while the puff pie is best served after being oven heated.
“I am thrilled that two of our newest products won these prestigious awards,” said Managing Director Esther Pearson during an awards ceremony hosted in association with the November 30 to December 1 Plant Based Word Expo Europe at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London. “Clive’s has been leading the way in tasty vegan food for over 30 years, and all credit for innovative recipes and delicious veg first food goes to our amazing team.”
The company’s extensive offering has evolved from a Mushroom Pie sold off the back of a bicycle into a range of pies, tarts, roasts and now quiches. All are 100% vegan and organic, and many are gluten- free.
Among other 2022 Plant-Based Taste Awards competition winners in various categories were: Impossible Foods’ “Chicken” Nuggets Made From Plants; Raging Bacon from The Raging Pig Company; Breakfast Jack Sausage Patties from Jack and Annie’s; Dawn Farms’ Plant Deli Sausage; Endori Veggie Sticks di Mare from Endori Food; Vegan Tikka Masala from Grönt; Rethink Foods’ Pink Albatross Aromatic Choco Coffee Ice Cream; and Vecuisine Oh My !
