Eggo Grab & Go Liege-style Waffles Debut as Thaw-and-Eat Breakfast

The Battle Creek, Michigan-headquartered Kellogg Company has launched Eggo Grab & Go Liege-Style Waffles in the United States, the first-ever Eggo waffle that doesn’t require a toaster for preparation. The bistro-quality handheld product, inspired by a classic Belgian street food staple, features a golden brioche dough that is baked through with crunchy bits of pearl sugar. Available in Buttery Maple and Strawberry flavors, the products are made with real butter and  containin no artificial colors or flavors.

Eggo Grab & Go Waffles are individually wrapped and can be eaten at room temperature – they thaw in under an hour upon removal from one’s home freezer – or can be consumed warm straight from the toaster. The Liege-style waffles are infused with maple flavor and other natural flavors, so no syrup or toppings are needed, making them a convenient, mess-free breakfast option for on-the-go consumers.

“Mornings are tough for families. We heard from parents that they often sacrifice their own needs, like skipping breakfast, in order to make sure their kids get a great start to the day,” said Joe Beauprez, Eggo’s marketing director. “That’s why we created these delicious and satisfying mess-free waffles that are perfect to enjoy during carpool drop offs, while commuting to work and especially when you have a jam-packed weekend filled with back-to-back sporting events for your kids.”

The new product began rolling out this month at retail stores across the USA. They are available in four-pack boxes for a suggested retail price of $5.99, and in 12-pack boxes for $12.99.
