Goodfella’s aims to transform the frozen pizza category in the United Kingdom with a new duo of stonebaked products. Launching on June 4 at Iceland stores, the Goodfella’s Grande range comes in Margherita and Double Pepperoni variants, which are ideal for sharing.
Frozen pizza plays a key role in midweek dinners and continues to over index with shoppers vs. the Total Frozen Savory Category, according to Kantar figures. Many consumers are planning midweek meal occasions that act as a treating moment with friends and family, and 38% of pizza occasions now include more than four people. There is a clear appetite from shoppers for shareable meal options, and Goodfella’s latest innovation delivers on this by providing four portions per serving.
“We’re seeing a growing demand for sharing pizzas, as consumers try to turn their midweek meals into a moment where they can gather around the table with friends and family,” said Louise Grace, marketing manager at Goodfella’s. By offering larger, rectangular sharing options, the new products provide an innovative alternative for retailers looking to cater to this rising consumer trend.”
Featuring a 650-gram Margherita and a 635-gram Double Pepperoni pizza on stonebaked bases, the Goodfella’s Grande SKUs are priced at £5 each.
