Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves joined with members of the Cold-Link Logistics team and design-build specialist Tippmann Group as a speaker (pictured above) following a groundbreaking event on July 13 to ceremoniously kick construction of a 198,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Ellisville. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2024 and bring 84 new jobs to Jones County, the state-of-the-art warehouse will provide nearly 27,000 pallet positions for frozen and refrigerated food products.

The building will utilize QFR Zone blast freezing technology with 44 QFR Zones in the freezer, and 1,056 pallet positions of blast freezing capacity. Twenty-one dock doors will be available for loading and unloading trucks as they bring product into and out of the facility.

The warehouse will be Cold-Link’s third new unit built in the past two years, following the opening of coldstores in Holland, Michigan in 2022, and Sioux City, Iowa in 2023. Additionally, an expansion at the operation in Holland was completed earlier this year. The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Tippmann Group designed and built each facility.

“This project has been over a year in the making and we couldn’t be more thrilled to break ground in Mississippi,” said Michael Mandich, president and founder of Cold-Link Logistics. “We will serve as a crucial component to the region’s food supply chain for current demand and future growth. The partnership developed locally with Whitestone Transportation allows us to offer first class transportation options to go along with storage and warehousing services. We look forward to supporting the industry’s growth in the area.”
