Izico Food Group officially changed its name to GoodLife Foods on February 1. The Breda, Holland-headquartered company produces a raft of branded and private label frozen products ranging from frikadel meat snacks, hamburgers and meatballs to croquettes, spring rolls, cheese soufflés, samosas, other ethnic and meat-free snacks, plus to vegetarian and vegan specialties.
“The start of 2019 is a suitable moment for a fresh start,” said CEO Kamiel Steendijk. “The name GoodLife Foods responds on the one hand to our existing product range, and additionally indicates we recognize the changing demand for more sustainable and vegetarian products. ”
Among the company’s brands are Beckers, Mexicano, Bicky, Daloon and Goodlife. Beckers invented the original frikandel in the Netherlands back in the 1950s, while Daloon founder Sai-chui Van introduce frozen spring rolls to Denmark and the greater Nordic market in the early 1960s. The Bicky brand was launched in 1981 and quickly became famous for hamburgers in Belgium. De Vries van Oers introduced the Mexicano snack in 1984 with great success, and since 1992 quality vegetables have been sourced to create vegetarian meals.
Today GoodLife products are produced at five company-owned and operated factories in the Netherlands (Boxtel, Deurne, Dordrech, Katwijk and Oudkarspel), one plant in Belgium (Bocholt), a factory in the United Kingdom (Newark) and a plant in Denmark (Nyborg).
All facilities are fully IFS- or BRC-certified.
