The Interpom ’22 specialized trade fair for the potato sector in Europe will kick off at Kortrijk Xpo in Belgium on November 27 for a three-day run. The initiative of Belgapom, the official trade association for the Belgian potato trade, growers and processors, will feature approximately 325 exhibitors and expects more than 19,000 visitors.
Potato processing companies on the scene will be McCain Foods Europe, Lutosa, Aviko, Farm Frites International, Agristo and Mydibel. Among the many equipment suppliers exhibiting will be FAM Stumbo, Heat & Control, Kiremko, Marel, Idaho Steel, GEA, Urschel, Tummers, Tomra and Key Technology.
Key will showcased its Herbert OCULUS whole potato sorter and promote advanced optical sorters, specialized vibratory conveyors and other process automation systems at the show. Herbert OCULUS digital sorters identify and remove potatoes with diseases and defects, as well as spuds outside the specified length and width profile, if desired.
Also offered by Key are Veryx Potato Strip Sorters, which are ideal for frozen or wet potato products as well as a variety of vegetables and more. The sorters remove defective product and foreign material (FM) to ensure product quality while virtually eliminating false rejects. When equipped with Sort-to-Grade software, Veryx Potato Strip Sorters categorize every surface defect, as well as strip length if applicable, and makes each accept/reject decision based on how it will impact the product grade to ensure final product specifications are met while increasing yields.
