Food processing equipment suppliers Key Technology and Heat and Control Pty Ltd. have geographically extended an existing strategic partnership supporting customers in Australia, New Zealand and India to now include South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Under terms of the agreement, Key has named Heat and Control as its exclusive agent in these regions to sell and service its digital sorters, vibratory conveyors and other automation systems.

Walla Walla, Washington, USA-headquartered Key Technology’s line of equipment is highly complementary to Hayward, California-headquartered Heat and Control’s processing and packaging portfolio. By leveraging Heat and Control’s facilities in Cape Town, South Africa, Key can better assist customers with demonstration and application testing capabilities and expedite delivery of spare parts and after sales service.

“Key Technology has a long-standing history with Heat and Control, and our collaborative partnership now extends to deliver innovative, optimized solutions to processors in South Africa and sub Saharan Africa,” said Erik Blom, managing director of food processing EMEIA for Duravant, Key’s parent company. “Together, we can deliver added value to our customers through our combined industry expertise, extensive product offering and strong infrastructure of sales and service organizations.”

“Our team is excited about this new partnership with Key. Their products complement ours perfectly in terms of their innovation and reliability, yet they offer adjacent capabilities that target the same or similar product applications,” said Jeff Rossouw, Heat and Control’s general manager for Africa. “Key’s equipment, which includes VERYX digital sorters and Iso-Flo vibratory conveyors, is ideal for processors that want to elevate their product quality and food safety while improving efficiencies and yields in an increasingly competitive market.”
